The 35th Anniversary Silver State 508, September 14 to 16 (Friday to Sunday), 2018 The Toughest 48 Hours in Sport! A 508-mile ultra-endurance cycling race, where competitors have 48 hours to finish the course.Solo, two-person relay, and four-person relay divisions are offered, with sub-categories for tandems, recumbents, fixed gear, and classic bikes. Silver State 508 is a Race Across AMerica (RAAM) Qualifier. Founded by John Marino in 1983 and recognized as "The Toughest 48 hours in Sport," Silver State 508 is the world's premier weekend ultra cycling race. This 508-mile bicycle race is revered the world over for its epic mountain climbs, stark desert scenery, desolate roads, and its reputation as one of the toughest but most gratifying endurance challenges available, bar none. Silver State 508 is starts and finishes in Reno, NV and crosses northern Nevada on Hwy 50, also known as "the loneliest highway in America."
